Commissioning Art…How to guide…

Commissioning art is a unique and great way of purchasing and personalising art. The process allows you to become fully engaged with the design and development of a bespoke piece of artwork. It is possible and simple to commission a painting from me to create something specifically to fit your criteria and budget.

Commissioning artwork is a unique experience that allows you to trust me to create what you are visualising. It gives you the chance to have a personalised work of art that will stay with you forever.

Art for your home

Commissioning a work of art can be great for both collectors and artists. As a collector, it is a chance to be a part of the creative process and bring to life something that you will particularly connect with. For an artist it is really interesting to talk to collectors about what they would like and how they envision a painting to suit their particular interior design project. Also to find out more about where the finished painting will be, especially with regards to lighting and space around the artwork.

If you really like a painting but it’s already sold or you are looking to get something a little more personalised for example a special place you have visit, just let me know and I can give you options or an idea of what I can paint for you.

Art Commissioning Process

  1. Together we discuss your ideas and the space where you would like your painting to hang.
  2. I will gather more information on the type and size of painting you would like. This might include colours, measurements, places you have visited that inspire you. Confirm the type of painting you would like, for example: wave, seascape, abstract or semi abstract or a combination of those.
  3. During the painting process I will also email you images and a time-lapsed video of how the artwork is progressing. Taking into account any feedback or alterations to the painting you would like.
  4. Confirmation by email of the areas we discussed. Including timeline to create the painting, the price, and payment terms. I will also ask for 25% percent deposit.

Please see feedback from customers I have done commissions for so far and collectors of my work.
