Emerald Beach Wave Limited Edition Giclée Print
Seascape print on fine art paper available in 2 sizes.
Emerald Beach Wave Giclée Print is based on an original oil painting in my wave series. It shows crashing ocean waves in many shades of green from emerald to the palest yellow green hue. The beaches of the South Devon coastline and Cornwall have inspired this painting.
is the term used to describe fine art reproductions of museum quality. Using the finest quality papers and inks designed to resist color fading, drawings and paintings are reproduced using a fine art printer with exceptionally high resolution.
The word Giclée (“g-clay”),
is derived from the French verb gicler meaning “to squirt or spray”, Giclee, is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper to achieve Giclée prints of superior archival quality, light fastness and stability.
I am an oil painter inspired by the energy of the seas. Studying film and fine art at the University of Plymouth has influenced the way I paint. It is important to me to include a sense of movement and escapism in my work. Having moved permanently to Devon 17 years ago, the coastline of Devon and Cornwall still inspire my work. The seascape series of paintings have evolved over the years. I am keen to explore the force of the ocean, the light coming through the waves and the ever changing colour of the sea
For my original work I like to use oil paint. This medium is very versatile allowing you to add thick impasto layers or more fluid translucent ones. As a result this medium is ideal when you want to capture ocean waves in all their forms and variety of colours. Also it is such robust a medium I can scrape the paint back or scratch into it too for added texture.
In conclusion, I am a member of the Devon Artist Network where you can see more of my work here https://www.devonartistnetwork.co.uk/catherine-kennedy-1
