Description
“Safe Harbour”
Original Acrylic painting on board. Width 61 x Height 61 cm or 24 x 24 inches. Signed. Framed. With a certificate of authenticity.
Safe Harbour framed seascape acrylic painting on board showing waves crashing onto a harbour wall with wet rocks in the foreground.
The inspiration for “Safe Harbour” came from this statement from the Marine Conservation Institute…
“The ocean is the largest ecosystem on Earth, it is the planet’s life support system. Oceans generate half of the oxygen we breathe and, at any given moment, they contain more than 97% of the world’s water. Oceans provide at least a sixth of the animal protein people eat. Living oceans absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reduce climate change impacts. The diversity and productivity of the world’s oceans is a vital interest for humankind. Our security, our economy, our very survival all require healthy oceans.” They are asking each of us to Become an Ocean Guardian
Everyone sees colour in a slightly different way to one another, call it colour perception. The way I see colour and the feelings I get when the colours align well on a canvas appeals to me. Also, the way collectors see my work will be unique to them because of their own individual colour perception.
I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2008 at the University of Plymouth. My exhibitions have been throughout Devon and one of my films was been exhibited at the South Bank, London and in Italy. I am a Teignmouth based artist.
