Turquoise Sea II Giclée Fine Art Print on Hahnemüle Pearl paper. Measured 80 x 52.5 cm with 2 cm boarder. Signed and numbered.
Hahnemüle Pearl has a smooth orange peel texture and a bright neutral white base, it creates really natural black and white images and offers vibrant colour reproduction and great detail too. The paper is resin coated with a fibrous feel. The satin finish of the resin coating gives depth to the image which combined with the texture and vibrant colour reproduction give the image the feel of an oil painting. This is one of the most suitable of the Giclée Art Paper range for mounting.
The original painting of “Turquoise Sea III” is inspired by the South Devon Coastline Devon. One in a new series of paintings examining the play of light. I am intrigued by the sunlight hitting the shallow water creating a play light. The shadows being an array of blues with turquoise, green and indigo ripples.
I have tried to invoke an immersive feeling to my paintings The sea is an ever-changing element that I find fascinating. Light hitting the water makes it’s colours change rapidly from a deep blue to a pale green/white.
I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2008 at the University of Plymouth. I have exhibited my paintings throughout Devon and gained an award at the Exeter Short Film festival. My films and photographs have been exhibited on the South Bank, London and in Italy. I am a Teignmouth based artist.
